Candy Free Valentines

For the past two years, I have shared our candy-free valentines for our toddler(s) – check them out here and here. As you have guessed, I’m back with even more candy-free valentines this year, as well as some other ideas that you can do too! I am a huge fan of candy-free treats as I have a strong belief that my children do not need excess sugar; they already bounce off the walls on a normal day! Also, I am not sure how other parents feel about their toddlers having candy, so I always err on the side of caution.

This year, Crosby is sending “Happy Valentine’s Day Love Bug” valentines. I seriously love these and they are so easy.

The supplies:

  • Kraft paper from Hobby Lobby
  • This to That from Amazon (any double sided sticky adhesive will work)
  • Bunch-o-Bugs from Amazon
  • Free printable from the link above

Kenley is sending “COLOR ME HAPPY to be your friend” valentines with crayons.  Again, so easy and so cute, especially for an older toddler who doesn’t like to eat crayons.

The supplies:

  • White cardstock from Hobby Lobby
  • Box of 64 or 96 Crayola crayons
  • This to That from Amazon (any double sided sticky adhesive will work)
  • Free printable from the link above

As promised, here are some more ideas for candy-free valentines. It was really hard for me to choose this year because they are all so cute!

Will ZOO be mine?
You blow me away, Valentine!
Ahoy Valentine, you’re a real treasure!

For the older kids: You Are Awesome!

Happy crafting and Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. I totally agree that children do not need excess sugar in their diet, especially if they already have plenty fresh fruits every day. Last weekend, we have a Chinese New Year event at my local public library, they organized kids making paper bags for CANDY! I was quite disappointed and told the guy work there that they should give kids something healthy, such as vegetables. But the guy told me :”but the kids like candies…”

Thanks for sharing your idea and belief.
