Family Fun at EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

When you hear food and wine festival, you’d probably assume it’s an adult-only event, right? It would be an easy assumption, but the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is an event which can be enjoyed as a family too!

This is one of my favorite local events and something we all look forward to attending. Getting together with a group of friends or heading out after work on a date night was always something I looked forward to, but now…..we enjoy the event as a family.

I’ve been attending the event almost every year since it began in 1995. EPCOT has done a great job over the years of including fun elements for their young guests. The event is running now through November 12th.

One of our annual traditions is doing Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. Guests can purchase a map which has the layout of World Showcase and some stickers of Remy. Families can go from country to country searching for hidden Remy’s throughout the promenade. At the end you turn in your completed map to the designated store and get a little prize.

The main Fountain Stage hosts a Dance Party on Friday and Saturday Evenings! Guests can sing and dance along with Disney friends at the Disney Du Jour Dance Party. Check the daily schedule for times.

If you have children that love to cook, make sure you sign them up for Junior Chef Kitchen. Spots are filled on a first come first serve bases. Kids can create their own pancakes every Sunday. If you have a multi-day pass or annual pass, sign up on Saturdays (the day before) to ensure you have a spot.

Kids can also make Candy Sushi with Skittles! Sessions take place daily at 3:30pm and 5:30pm. Spaces are on a first come first serve bases and reservations can be made online or by calling the reservation line.

Parents if you want to make your way around the world take advantage of the Kidcot areas. Each country has a designated Kidcot station where your kids can color and get their Duffy Bear stamped according to the country they visit. This is a great way to let you (Adults), enjoy a bite or a taste of wine while your kids are busy.

One of our favorite Kidcot spots is at the American Pavillion. If you happen to be there at the time concerts are taking place at the America Gardens Theater, you can still enjoy the music.

The Eat to the Beat Concert Series takes place during the Food and Wine Festival and the line up never disappoints. Plain White T’s, 90 Degrees, Boys II Men, Smash Mouth…. The list goes on. Again, if you can’t make it to the main theater, you can still hear the music from Kidcot.

The one thing my daughter looks forward to the most is the Festival Playground. This year the playground is inspired by Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet” and offers an interactive experience. Again….Parents this is a great time to enjoy a little snack while your child is busy having fun.

Along with all these activities, children can catch the normal Meet and Greets with their favorite characters throughout the day.

We’d love to see your photos at the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival! Tag us in your Instagram or Facebook photo so we can follow along and see your adventures! Enjoy!
