Father’s Day is just around the corner, and we all know that sometimes it’s a task to search for a fun and different gift for the Dad figure in your life.  Plus with kids out for the summer, we are always looking for something fun and exciting to do! Wouldn’t it be nice to combine the two?! We recently featured one of Orlando’s local hotspots, East End Market, on our blog (check it out here!), which is one of my personal favorite spots in town! In my hunt for the perfect Father’s Day gift for my love, I knew I would find some great options at Bookmark It, as we are big book lovers in our house. So I made a pit stop, indulged in a carrot cake smoothie from Skyebirdseriously it’s beyond delicious and it doesn’t even taste like it’s healthy! –  purchased a gift or two and selected a few options that you can pick up this week!

Geared for fathers and daughters, Maker Dad by Mark Fraudenfelder is an excellent choice for any Daddy’s girl! Perfect idea for those daddy-daughter dates!

Dad’s Book of Awesome Science Experiments by Mike Adamick will provide some serious fun for the whole family! With a variety of levels of scientific experiments and most using items that you will probably have around the house, this choice will give you fun memories for days to come. Plus, the kids will be learning while they do it. Bonding, learning, and fun – sounds like the perfect combination to me!

How to Cheer Up Dad by Fred Koehler –  A fictional story about a little one who’s dad is having rough day, by no fault of their own of their own, and he does several things to try and make dad “feel better.” Awesome story for some good laughs and loving moments with dad. **Added bonus – On June 17th, at 10am at East End Market, Bookmark It will be hosting a story time for kids of all ages with Fred Koehler, who is a local author, including a reading, illustration demo and card coloring for dad. Plus, it’s free and help upstairs in the cool air conditioning(yay!).

For The Coffee Loving Dad

While each of these books cover the global love for coffee, roasting processes and recipes, each of them has something very different to offer. Coffee Obsession by Anette Moldvaer features amazing photography and informative graphics covering each and every aspect of the world of coffee, including flavor pairings and global recipes. The World Atlas of Coffee by James Hoffmann is an excellent choice for the wordsmith in your life, as it truly gets in depth with educational tidbits many aspects of coffee around the world. The Curious Barista’s Guide to Coffee by Tristan Stephenson if the man in your life loves the science and art behind why and how certain drinks are made, he will love this book! Pair any of these books with one of their awesome mugs and a bag of coffee from Lineage, which is right next door, and you have the perfect combination for your gift!

For The Beer Lover

With an excellent selection of beer literature, Dad can learn how to make his own, the history behind it and even check out the Florida’s craft beer hotspots in The Great Florida Craft Beer Guide by Mark Denote. He will be a beer connoisseur in no time!

For Grandpa
For Grandpa

If you’re lucky enough to have your Grandpa’s in town, they have two great choices as well! Grandpa’s Garden by Stella Fry & Sheila Moxley and  How to Babysit a Grandpa by Jean Reagan are two choices sure to make him smile!

Do you have some Father’s Day book choices that you love? I would love to hear about them!
Whether it’s a book, a tie, or a Dad’s day out, I hope that you enjoy your special day with all the Dad figures in your lives and make them feel very special!
