When Does My Child Need a Physical?

Your family’s pediatrician or family medicine provider may recommend more frequent exams based on your child’s unique health history. But there are general requirements for school-age children, including:

• If this is your child’s first year at school
• If your child is due for a vaccine

Jason D. Rich, MD, is a pediatrician in practice with Orlando Health Physician Associates. Dr. Rich earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville, where he also received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Rich completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Florida and served three years as a Florida Diabetes Camp counselor. Dr. Rich’s clinical interests include increasing awareness of the importance of vaccinating children against Neisseria meningitis, often referred to as meningococcus. He also has published research concerning Sjögren’s syndrome.

We provide comprehensive health care for both children and adults. We also specialize in the care of premature babies. We provide Physicals, Vision and Hearing Screening and all childhood vaccines. We also draw blood in office to save you a trip to the lab. We also provide treatment for Allergies, Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, Gastric Issues, Reflux, Infection Treatment, Skin Disorders, Eczema, High Cholesterol, Minor Injuries, School and Sports Physicals, Immigration , as well as ADHD and other Behavioral Issues.

Dr. Mohammad Afzal has been managing autism and autistic spectrum disorders for last 15 years and he is also experienced in managing genetic disorders. 

Excel Pediatrics and Family Care does not want to turn anyone away, regardless of their situation. That is why we accept Medicaid and have discounted rates for those who are uninsured at all 5 of our locations.

Different services are available for when you need them. Such as a same day sick visit, minor injuries or if a comprehensive healthcare visit is needed. We are able to do minor procedures in the office such as Hearing and Vision Screens, EKG, Spirometry, Treatment of Cuts and Bruises, Allergy Injections as well as Suture and Staple Removal.
