Book #3 on my most anticipated reads of the year list was nothing short of amazing. King of Pride is out in the world and I loved every moment of this book. Ana Huang wrote the male main character I never knew I needed and the perfectly spunky female main character to push him to be better. I first was introduced to her writing in the Twisted Series (and if you’ve been around for a while, you know that I LOVE interconnected book series featuring siblings or friends) and fell in love with her characters. The Twisted Series follows a couple of close knit girls who each fall in love in their own stand alone book and we meet Dante from King of Wrath in that series. Dante and Kai are friends so we had glimmers of Kai’s personality in King of Wrath. Isabella also made appearances in King of Wrath as she is best friend’s with Vivian, Dante’s wife.

Are you following me? This King of Sin Series is setting itself up to be an extension of the Twisted series and I am here for it all.

Book Summary:

Isabella is working as a bartender at the Vahalla Club while trying to finish her novel. She’s under pressure from her family to get the novel done but she has a bad case of writer’s block. Kai is a member of the Vahalla Club, so any romantic relationship between these two is off limits, but something keeps pulling them together. They start seeing each other in secret because the implications of getting caught can be catastrophic for both of them.

This book is full of references to King of Wrath and Alex and Ava from Twisted Love make an appearance in a scene. You do not need to have read King of Wrath or the Twisted Series to enjoy this book because Kai and Isabella are amazing characters that you can fall in love with without the back story, but knowing the other characters only elevates the story. I loved seeing Alex and Ava happy and together and the references to the days that Isabella and Kai were just friends were a fun nod to their past.

Rating:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Like most of Ana’s books, this one is super spicy with multiple open door scenes throughout. If you prefer closed door romances, you should skip this one.

Also, if you want to stay away from books with cursing and swearing, this is one to skip.
