I’m that nerd-of-a-mama who was purchasing books for my baby before my sweet girl even arrived. Crazy, yes, but I have a very special relationship with books, and I couldn’t wait to introduce her to that relationship. Books are my mini-vacations away from reality, and when I pictured my babies’ nurseries I always envisioned rows and rows of books. My daughter Elle now has her fair share of books that feature brown babies that look like her, and books that are written en Español — but her Twigtale book is one that I know we’ll be loving for years to come.

Twigtale Book

When I had the opportunity to receive a sample of a Twigtale book, I couldn’t have be more excited. Because in spite of the vast number of books that we owned, we didn’t have any where my girl Elle was the star.

Smiling Baby in Book

I know, right? The adorableness can’t be denied. And Twigtale has made it so easy to personalize books where your babes are not only the stars, but the messages can even directly relate to what they may be going through!

At 13 months old, Elle loves looking at herself. So I naturally picked a template in the “Identity and Self-Esteem” category. Watching her reaction as she sees herself in a book is priceless because it’s as if she knows that she is coming up on every page — but not to just showcase her alone. The premise behind this book is to showcases one family member on each page that loves the child in the book. It’s great because it gives the child the chance to identify themselves AND family members that may be near or far away. It’s a perfect fit for our family right now.

Reading to Toddlers

But if your infant or preschooler has a bigger life-change coming down their pipeline, Twigtale is equipped with books that I think are perfect to help them through the transition. Books that cover adoption, getting a new sibling, losing a pet, moving to a different home and starting school — all attempt to help children understand what’s really going on. Twigtale says, “The transition is easier when they know what to expect.”

About the technology, fret not mama if you consider yourself to be tech-challenged. Uploading images and arranging your book on Twigtale.com couldn’t be easier. I found the site to be very user-friendly, with easy navigation.

The books start at $20 — a great value for memories that will last for years to come. And Twigtale books make fantastic gifts for close friends and families, too — especially for those with toddlers who will soon be facing the little bumps in the road that all toddlers go through. From “Bye Bye Pacifier” to “Starting School”, from “I Use the Potty” to “Trip to the Doctor” — more than a couple dozen options are available, including four different templates to “Create Your Own Book From Scratch!”
