Meghan Quinn’s newest book, Bridesmaid for Hire, is some of her funniest work yet. I know that so many of us in book club have already read this book and we all agree that it was spectacular. I read this one on a night airplane trip last weekend and I had to hope that no one around me would wake up because of my uncontrollable giggling. Thankfully the mom I sat with was also reading a book that she thought was funny so we bonded a bit over our books and I don’t think we woke up anyone.

If you are new to Meghan Quinn, this book is a great introduction to her humor, spice and her world building. This book is full of references to her other books and characters, but there is enough context to understand who these people are without reading their books first. This book is technically a spin off of her Almond Bay series and you see Maggie and Brody in “The Reason I Married Him.” I also cannot wait for “Bridesmaid Undercover” to come out later this year.

Bridesmaid for Hire follows Maggie (Hattie’s best friend, from “The Way I Hate Him“) and Brody on a vacation in Bora Bora.

Bridesmaid for Hire Summary:

Maggie is finally taking a hard earned vacation in Bora Bora and time away from her wedding planning business. But when she learns that the daughter of billionaire Reginald Hopper is getting married at her resort, she is determined to meet the family and pitch her services as a new addition to their hotel chain. Only problem is she needs a little help meeting the Hopper family and it comes to her in the form of her brother’s best friend and worst enemy, Brody McFadden. Brody is attending the wedding as a way to get close to his boss in hopes that it means his proposal at work is accepted. Maggie tells Reginald that she and Brody are dating to ensure she’s included in the wedding. Maggie and Brody end up sharing a bungalow and spending a lot of time together in the Hopper family’s wild antics leading up to the wedding. They quickly realized that they have spent a lot of time acting like they hate each other when in reality they both have been pining after the other for years. But one moment changes everything for them and threatens the future

Should I also be handing out laughing face emojis to rate how funny this book is? Maybe! And if I did it would have one million – this book is laugh out loud funny (I’m looking at you Hopper games and the snake scene). You pick up any MQ book and expect to laugh and blush – this one is no different!
