If I have not convinced you to read books by Devney Perry yet, here I am with another plea for you to pick up literally any of her books. Crimson River is the fifth novel in her Eden’s Series. It follows each of the Eden siblings on their journey to find love. There is even a novella that tells the story about how Anne and Harrison Eden fall in love and agree to have 6 kids. I highly recommend every book in the series. They are each stand alone books, but the endings always lead into the next story so reading in order enhances the on going story. And each book makes you crave the next because of the glimmer you get of what is to come.

Jasper Vale ends with Lyla leaving for the walk in the woods that sets off the series of events in Crimson River. Crimson River, like Indigo Ridge, is a romantic suspense novel. Devney Perry is are her absolute best when she’s writing in this genre.

Book Summary:

Lyla Eden heads out for a hike in the woods after her sister kicks her out of her own coffee shop, sighting the 100 consecutive days that Lyla has worked as evidence she needs a break. So Lyla heads out into the Montana wilderness to spend her afternoon relaxing. On her hike she comes across a man washing his hands in a stream. His hands are bloody and before Lyla can register what is happening the man with a scarred face has his hands around her neck. He lets her go without explanation and is gone from the clearing in an instant. Lyla reports the incident to the police.

Vance Sutter has been chasing the man with a scarred face for the last 4 years. When he sees the APB of Lyla’s incident, he is off to Quincy in hopes that this is the lead that will finally let him catch the man who has haunted his life and career. When he arrives in Quincy, he crosses paths with Lyla and realizes this beautiful woman is his best link to the scarred man. She agrees to help him search the area she was attacked in. While his stay in Quincy is only temporary, it’s becoming harder to avoid the obvious chemistry between him and Lyla Eden. Eventually they succumb to the chemistry and spend every moment, day and night, together.

For weeks Vance searches the area for any clue about the scarred man’s wear about. But will a big break in the case finally lead Vance to the man he so desperately wants brought to justice?

Rating:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Can I give this ♾️⭐️?! Devney Perry is in her element when writing romantic suspense and I think she’s the best of the best at weaving the mystery with the romance. She makes you love both main characters, fear for their safety and rejoice with their eventual, hard fought happily ever after.

Uh-huh, sure. Because Montana hiking trails were teeming with eligible, handsome men who’d worship the ground I walked on.

Lyla. Beautiful name. Beautiful woman. Too beautiful to be covered in bruises.

“You can do this.” “I can do this.”

“Promise not the be mad at me if I get us lost?” “You get us lost. I’ll get us found.”

This was my chance to memorize his hidden paradise. To soak it all in. But again, all I could do was look at Lyla.

I was in love with Lyla Eden. I had been for weeks.

“I’ll get your chair.”
